FAQ
How Long Does An Appointment Take?
All appointments are different. On average a groom takes 1-3 hours dependig on the size, condition, and temperament of the dog. Baths usually take around 30 Minutes to 1 Hour. Appointments are booked one dog (or family) per time slot.
Does My Dog Need Up to Date Vaccines?
I only schedule one dog per appointment. Your dog is usually not in my salon with other dogs so they don't need the full list of vaccines. While I do encurrage full vaccination, the only vaccine I require is an up to date Rabies.
Why Is My Price Different At Pickup?
Price estimates, along with time frame estimates, are a Best Guess that can be given at that time, and do not reflect the actual amount of time/ work that may need to be put into your dog. I do give notice by text if your price is going to be different than what was expected.
What Is A De-Shed, And Is It Necessary?
The De-shedding process includes a specialized shampoo used during the bath, along with the use of a high velocity dryer and coat specific brushes, to losen and remove the undercoat hair. This process will reduce the amount of shedded hair coming off your dog. A De-shed will Not stop a dog from shedding, it simply cuts down the amount of hair coming off the coat. De-sheds, like many grooming procedures, should be done on a frequent and regular basis, but it is owner prefference.
What Is The Difference Between A Nail Grind And Trim?
A nail trim is a blunt cut of the toenail. A nail grind uses a dremmel to shorten and round the nail, creating a smoother edge and can often safely take the nail shorter than a trim can. In either case it is best to have your dogs nails shortened at least once a month to every 5 - 6 weeks.
Can I Pre Book My Appointments?
Yes Absolutely! You can book your next appointment when you pick up or you can pick a schedule, (i.e. every 6 weeks) and I'll map out all of your appointment dates for the year so your spot is always held.
Can I Book All Of My Dogs On One Appointment?
When my schedule allows it you can book up to 3 dogs for the same appointment time. You can drop off all three dogs at once if you want, or drop them off in rounds. In either case your dogs will take up appointment times as if they were seperate, to ensure that I have the time needed to work with each dog.
Can My Dog Get A Flea Bath?
Yes, I use safe shampoos that will kill fleas and ticks and can also help dull the itch caused by bites. Flea baths are not an additional charge and will cost the same as a normal bath.
Please note, if fleas are found on your dog during their appoinment they will be given a flea bath, No Exceptions. This is for the safety of the salon and all animals that come through it.
Do Anal Glands Need To Be Expressed?
Not all dogs need their anal glands expressed. I can check if the glands are full upon request and express them if necessary. Anal glands should express without too much force. If your dogs glands are full but they cannot be easily expressed, they will need to be done internally by a vet. I Do Not Express Glands Internally Only External, this is for the safety of your dog.
Can I Bring My Own Shampoo?
Only if it is Vet Prescribed (on a prescription, not recomendation). This is because the soaps I use are products I am familiar with, I know they will not leave residue on the coat that could potentially damage your dogs coat, skin or my equipment. I have a wide variety of soaps for all types of coats and conditions. If your dog has allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities please let me know.
How Often Should My Dog Be Groomed?
For dogs who get haircuts, the longer you want them the more often they need to come see me. Typically its around every 4 - 6 weeks, if the hair goes short you can sometimes go 8 weeks. Even a dog who gets groomed every 3 weeks will still need to be brushed regularly at home.
Baths can be given once a month to every 3 months depending on the skin and coat. Baths can be given twice a month during heavy shedding seasons or to dogs with longer hair or double coats.
What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?
I accept cash, check or card. There is a $3 processing fee for card payments that total under $50
I do not accept payments via Venmo, Cashapp, or bank transfer.
